With the new Smoking Ban in place, you can no longer smoke inside.  Crap?  Yes.  Especially for Mecca Bingo.  A spokeswoman said that approximately 50% of their customers smoke in the bingo halls – and with the ban now in place, they’re scared of losing business.

Maureen Smith, an employee of Mecca Bingo in Yorkshire, has been labbeled the “Smoke Buster” by her friends after she offered support and help to both customers and fellow colleagues to kick the habit.

Tim Stobart, general manager at Mecca Bingo York commented, “We’re thrilled Maureen has decided to become our Smoke Buster and she will be able to offer support to others who choose to do the same.”

“We know it’s hard to quit smoking at the best of times but now our Smoke Buster can be a pillar of support for those wanting to quit when the national ban comes into place this July.”
